At the family Planning Clinic-
Family planning is very much related to two components of HIV & AIDS services: - PMTCT (Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission) and VCT (Voluntary Counselling & Testing). Family Planning services must include Counselling for HIV & AIDS.

Relevant and accurate information about HIV & AIDS shold be be given to couples/parents to be (discordant or not) to help them make informed decisions regarding their health, family planning, childbearing and safer sex.

Pre-test information is information about:

• What are HIV and AIDS?
• What is an HIV test and what is it for?
• What will happen to me during the test?
• When will I get the results of the test?
• What are some of the legal and social issues surrounding HIV/AIDS?
• The fact that sexual partners may have to be contacted to inform them of the test if the result is positive;
• How can I preventy HIV transmission?
